A new fantasy picture

Yesterday I started to paint a new piece. Nothing spectacular in the layout or composition,
but I want to do a fully colored picture with a convincing light.
While painting I look into the works of John Howe, who is really great with watercolors.

For this WIP I stepped the drawing part and directly post the first color layer.
I think it already gives a nice feel of where this hopefully will be going. ^^

A convincing sky with clouds and all that is surprisingly difficult to do, at least on this size.

STEP2: Focussing on the grass, mixing a yellowish green with some ocre and a little blue for the different parts.

Step 3: Bringing in the details and shadows, for which I used a mix of violet, indigo and some browns

Step4: Removing the rubber on the highligts, cleaning up the outlines with some white Acyrl color and stengthening some contrasts with pencils.

  2. P.S. Wie hast Du denn die Outlines gemacht? Ganz fein mit einem Bleistift?
